What excites you to compose for the feature film “Astrall Story”?
Every new piece or work is exciting to me. Like a new exciting journey. I love the premise behind this project. I love the idea of it being done by so many people and it being open source. I think it’s really cool.
What projects are you currently working on?
Music for TV shows MAKING IT (NBC), PARADISE HOTEL (FOX), and film called INFIDELITY
How did you get into music-making?
I started writing music as a teenage punk rocker after falling in love with classical music and becoming obsessed with Beethoven.
Which equipment you prefer to compose with?
DAW I use protools and Cubase. I have analog synths (prophet 12, ob-6, moog sub 37) as well as a 1935 Baldwin Baby Grand Piano. I also have a collection of guitars and basses.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Art inspires me. Whether it’s movies, other music, photography or painting.
What is your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is time. There’s never enough of it in the day.
What do you want the audience to take away from your music?
I want the audience to feel something. Music to me is about emotions, whether happiness, sadness, rage, curiosity, love etc. It’s all about an emotional journey. If the audience feels something I feel I’ve been successful.
